Luo Yidan, a child living in Shanghai, spent his summer in Mekong
River Valley with Mr. He Qing and Mr. Lin Wenfu from Cambodia last
year and there he celebrated his 11th birthday. During his one-month
journey along the Mekong River, he recorded the life of the children
with his camera. The Children's Day is coming, so Room with A View
takes this chance to exhibit these special records by exhibiting
installations.

"In Angkor, I witnessed many children younger than me sell postcards
to tourists in the hot sun. However, in the capital, Phnom Penh, I saw
children play with their friends joyfully in the golden sun. My
deepest impression came from a girl with big eyes and long hair
laughing by Mekong River in the sunset. I believe, even her family
might be poor, she has a happy life. And it is all.
I stayed in Sihanouk for only one day but was impressed greatly. There
I saw children from China, America and Cambodia holding the same huge
buoy floating on the waves. A big wave came and wetted their faces and
hair. They seemed not care and continued their float, talking about
their hometowns, their joy and sorrow...
Wish all of you a happy Children's Day!
Luo Yidan"

The Mekong River is comprised of the main channel, which is important perennial habitat for a diverse assemblage of fish species, and floodplains that provide critical seasonal habitat for many species.
